South Triad Community Eligibility Provision Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which schools participate in the Community Eligibility Provision?
   1. The following schools participate in the free meal program: Afflerbach, Arp, Bain, Cole, Fairview, Goins, Hebard. Johnson, Lebhart, Rossman, South, Sunrise, and Triumph. All students at the above-mentioned schools receive free meals without need of application, meaning they receive free meals for being enrolled at a participating site.
2. Should I still fill out a free and reduced meal application?
   1. No. Please DO NOT fill out a free and reduced meal application. We cannot accept them under this federal program. It creates extra work to sift through the eligible applicants.
3. Are you sure I shouldn’t fill out an application? How will my school receive title funding?
   1. Rest assured there are other federally recognized methods in determining eligibility for federal programs outside of free and reduced data.
4. How can I opt into certain disclosures without filling out a meal application?
   1. We operate under an “opt out” method for device insurance and musical instrument rentals. All students in the South Triad automatically receive free device insurance and free musical instrument rentals. If you wish to opt out of either, please call Nutrition Services at 307-771-2440.
